POTSDAM -- SmartAsset.com has ranked Clarkson University number five in the state in its "best value colleges" survey.
The schools were ranked on scholarships provided, starting salary, tuition, living costs, and retention rate, among other categories.
At number 1 was SUNY Maritime College. Cooper Union, Columbia and Cornell also placed ahead of Clarkson.
Finishing below CU are RPI, Colgate, Hamilton, Stony Brook, and RIT.
