POTSDAM -- New Hope Community Church's Encounter Youth Group raised $2,438.03 for World Vision's 30HR Famine to help feed hungry children in Malawi, southeastern Africa.
The students also collected non-perishable items from local supermarkets to help stock the food pantry at Helping Hands in Hannawa Falls.
Encounter Youth Group meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at 33 Grant St.
