POTSDAM -- The village will be taking a serious look at the inside of a sewer line along Clough Street, part of which collapsed last summer.
Department of Public Works Superintendent Bruce Henderson said workers replaced 60 feet of that line at the time of the collapse, but there is concern that the approximately 60-year-old line might need much more work.
“We shoved a camera down there and it was clear we have to replace more,” Henderson said, and this year they will use a camera to explore as much of the roughly 700 feet of line from Market Street to Racquette Road as they can. “We’ll see of the whole line needs to be replaced or just in spots. We’d like to be able to get away with doing some spot repairs to it.”
The repair done last year “seems to be holding up,” he said.
