POTSDAM – The Potsdam town supervisor, who was mistakenly included in a list of officials who are endorsing Rep. Elise Stefanik for re-election to Congress, says she called him to apologize for the mix-up.

“She said she was sorry for the mistake and hoped it was understandable,” said Rollin Beattie, who was one of two Democrats on the list of 84 St. Lawrence County elected and appointed office holders said to be endorsing the first-term congresswoman, a Republican from Willsboro.

Beattie, a Democrat from Norwood, said he was satisfied with her apology.

“She apologized for having caused the trouble,” she said.

He confirmed that he had been incorrectly included in the list, which was released by Stefanik’s campaign office Friday.

Norwood Village Trustee Mike Zagrobelny, also a Democrat, was also on the list but said he was not supporting Stefanik either.

He said he called the campaign and asked for an apology, but he hasn’t had one yet.
