POTSDAM -- The Town Council meets at 6:30 p.m. tonight to finalize arrangements for a look at providing water and sewer service at State Rt. 56 north.
Representatives of the USDA's Rural Development Program will meet with Supervisor Rollin Beattie and Clerk Cindy Goliber tomorrow to finish the paperwork for a grant providing funds for a comprehensive survey of residents and business owners to gauge support for such a plan.
The USDA will contribute $30,000, $15,000 each for the water and sewer surveys, and the town will add $5,000 each.
The survey will specifically define interest, and examine current facilities to see if their capacity would be adequate to handle the extra loads.
The board also plans to adjust its budget to account for the $66,308.32 in PAVE NY funds received from the state for road projects, and to authorize spending that money, according to Goliber.
