POTSDAM – The village will be selling two small parcels of land near the Lowe’s Corporation store to the state Department of Transportation for their exclusive use.
The two parcels, totaling less than an acre, are on the west of State Rt. 56 on either side of Country Lane.
They are owned by the village, acquired as part of the development around Lowe’s. They are in the DOT’s right of way, and are already partly occupied by DOT traffic signal control boxes.
The parcels will be sold to the state for one dollar “Payment Waived,” the resolution adopted Wednesday said.
The state’s was made so that DOT could make unspecified modifications to the roadway without having to go through a longer process requiring a hearing and other procedures to do what they want on village-owned land.
