POTSDAM – Potsdam Central School is offering grief services in the wake of a student death Tuesday.
The student, R.J. Hassett, was identified in a letter issued to parents Tuesday by Superintendent Joanne Chambers.
“We learned this morning that one of our students, senior R.J. Hassett died at his home. We shared what little information we had with students a short while ago. We have St. Lawrence Valley Hospice encouraging students to go to the high school library if they need someone to talk with,” the letter says.
In the letter Chambers urged students to remain in school if they can’t be with a parent at this time.
Attempts to contact Chambers for additional comment were not immediately successful.
