POTSDAM -- Shawn Seymour of Hannawa Falls was honored recently as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Potsdam.
Seymour is the assistant chief accountant at Clarkson University, and chief accountant at J.R. Weston and the Clarkson Inn.
He was honored “in appreciation of his tangible assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.”
The Potsdam Rotary has donated $1,000 in his name to the Rotary Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International, to be used for projects such as saving the lives of children through immunization, bringing water to remote villages, or the establishment of hospitals in under-developed countries.
A native of Watertown, Seymour is a certified public accountant who received his accounting degree from Clarkson University.
Prior to Clarkson, Seymour worked as a staff accountant at Pinto, Mucenski & Watson, P.C., in Potsdam, and at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
He has served as the Potsdam Rotary Club’s treasurer since 2007 and is married to Laura Cordts.
