POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Public Library, 2 Park St., will hold a referendum vote June 11 asking for support of increasing funding from $465,000 to $505,000.

The vote is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m.in the library basement.

The current library tax rate is 89¢ per thousand of assessed value in the Town of Potsdam. The proposed rate is 97¢ per thousand.

For a home assessed at $100,000, the increase would be $8. This would be the first increase in eight years.

The second purpose of the referendum is to elect three trustees to the library board.

A public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on June 4 at the Potsdam Civic Center Community Room. For more information, contact Pat Musante at 265-7230.
