POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Public Library, 2 Park St., will hold a referendum vote Wednesday, June 10, asking for support of increasing funding from $505,000 to $519,000.
The vote is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. in the library basement.
The current library tax rate is 95¢ per thousand of assessed value in the Town of Potsdam. The proposed rate is 98¢ per thousand.
For a home assessed at $100,000, the increase would be $3.
If approved, this would be the second consecutive year the library would receive increased funding. Last year the library asked for funding to increase from $465,000 to $505,000.
The second purpose of the referendum is to elect three trustees to the library board.
A public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, at the Potsdam Civic Center Community Room. For more information, contact Pat Musante at 265-7230.
