POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Public Library Public Computer Center has extended its hours and is now open Monday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Every Monday, the center offers “Computer 101” from 9 - 11 a.m. Reservations are recommended by calling 265-7230.
Each Tuesday and Thursday, a representative from the One Stop Career Center is available for consultation from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. to help with career selection and job applications. Also on Tuesdays, a readjustment counselor from the Watertown Vet Center is available from 9:30 - 3.30 p.m. to assist veterans. Reservations may be made at the library.
Every Wednesday, “Basic Word” is offered from 9-11 a.m., covering creation of a letter and a chart in Microsoft Word.
Classes for certification in Microsoft Excel begin June 8 and will be held from noon - 2 p.m. Wednesdays for approximately for seven weeks. Reservations required.
Every day, the center can help people with job searches, one-on-one computer help, access to the internet and computer loans.
All programs are free, with funding provided by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP).
