POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence Health System has added a new family doctor to its staff at the Potsdam Primary Care Center.
Duffy provides comprehensive family medical care, including wellness visits, vaccinations, school physicals, and diagnosis, treatment, and—if necessary—specialist referrals for disorders affecting all body systems.
With a background in sports medicine in rural settings, and as a doctor of chiropractic (DC) in addition to his MD, his subspecialty interest is in body mechanics and the proper functioning of the musculoskeletal system, the framework of bones, joints, and ligaments that support movement and protect the body’s organs.
Duffy received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed a residency at Ohio State University, where he served as rural practice chief resident. He conducted research on ACL injuries in female athletes at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic, Deaconess Hospital of Cincinnati, OH.
Duffy earned his DC from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, Whittier, Calif., following completion of a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles. He comes to Potsdam from a family practice group in Wake Forest, N.C.
Duffy is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Craven-Pamlico-Jones Medical Society, New Bern, N.C. For several years, he served as a representative of UCLA hockey and USA Rugby.
