POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Police Department says they are investigating a string of vehicle break-ins that have occurred during the early morning hours of Feb. 17-20.
All vehicles that have been entered were unlocked and there have been no reports of forced entry. The locations of the incidents have been primarily in residential neighborhoods.
The police department is asking residents to report any suspicious behavior immediately.
Police urge all residents to secure their vehicles at all times when they are parked. It is also recommended that exterior porch and driveway lights be left on at night to deter further break-ins.
If you believe that your vehicle has been entered unlawfully, police advise not to enter the vehicle prior to contacting police, as there may be evidence that can be collected to strengthen the current investigation.
