POTSDAM -- Potsdam Police say public outreach led to the arrest of a Potsdam woman accused for stealing a purse.
Tina Lee Matthews, 36, of Hermon, was charged with petit larceny Wednesday. Police said a picture of Matthews, captured by surveillance cameras, was released to media outlets.
Members of the public were able to identify the woman, which led to her arrest.
Officers said Matthews is accused of stealing a purse in the Village of Potsdam on Dec. 3.
She was released on an appearance ticket.
