The Northern New York Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Councils at Potsdam Central School, Ogdensburg Free Academy and two schools in Jefferson County are soliciting grant proposals for a total of $40,000, $10,000 from each school’s council.
The councils are encouraging non-profit agencies who provide services in St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties to submit a proposal to support a program, project or initiative that will enhance the organization’s work and the quality of life in the North Country.
This year, four Youth Philanthropy Councils will each award $10,000 in grant funding.
Non-profit organizations interested in applying for grant funding are asked to email council advisors Max DelSignore (max@nnycf.org) or April Fallon (april@nnycf.org) to obtain the program’s grant guidelines.
Proposals should include a general description of the organization and request, the grant amount requested, how the funding will be used and the expected impact of the program or project.
Submissions for council consideration should be received by the Community Foundation no later than Feb. 1.
The Youth Philanthropy Councils will evaluate all grant requests and notify finalists to present grant proposals to the councils in early spring. The councils will determine grant recommendations, and the Community Foundation’s board of directors will review all recommendations at their quarterly meeting in June 2015.
For additional information, organizations and agencies may contact DelSignore or Fallon via email or at 782-7110.
Youth Philanthropy Council is made possible through the generosity of Watertown Savings Bank, Renzi Foodservice, the Grasseroots Fund, RBC Wealth Management, the Sweetgrass Foundation and annual gifts to the Community Foundation’s Community Betterment Fund.
