Potsdam Neighborhood Center taking orders for food packages at nearly 50% off

The Potsdam Neighborhood Center is taking orders for the April Food Sense program. The program is a food purchasing cooperative program that allows customers to buy a food package for $15.50, but which is valued at $25 to $30.

The April the package consists of one lb. boneless chicken breast, one lb. Italian meatballs, 12 oz. pollack fillets, one lb. Italian sausage, one lb. spaghetti, 15 oz. bread crumbs, 26 oz. spaghetti sauce, one lb. frozen green beans, 11 oz. mandarin oranges, 14.5 oz. diced tomatoes, and two fresh produce items.

Call the center at 265- 3920 for the add-on bonus items and to place your order, before April 5. Pick up on April 19.

Regular customers get a special offer for April: a current customer who refers a friend to the program and they place an order can get a May package at half price. Talk to Director Daisy Cox if you are interested.

The Food Sense program is offered to anyone who wishes to stretch their food budget. Anyone who receives SNAP or Food Stamps is encouraged to use them to purchase their Food Sense package.

Other Neighborhood Centers in St. Lawrence County also participate in the program
