POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Neighborhood Center is taking orders for the November Food Sense program.
The program is a food purchasing cooperative program that allows customers to buy a food package for $15.50, but is valued at $25 to $30. Each month is a different package, and additional items that can be added on.
The November the package consists of: turkey pan roast (2 lbs.), turkey gravy (10.5 oz), pie shells (2), pollock fillets (1 lb.), sweet potatoes (15 oz.), frozen vegetables, ground pork sausage (1 lb.), stuffing mix (6 oz.), two fresh produce items, fresh mashed potatoes (2 lbs.), and cranberry sauce (14 oz.).
The Food Sense program is offered to anyone who wishes to stretch their food budget. Anyone who receives SNAP or Food Stamps is encouraged to use them to purchase their Food Sense package.
People may call the center before Nov. 3 at 265- 3920 to place an order and for the add-on bonus items.
Pickup is Nov. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Call the number above for more info.
