POTSDAM -- Author John Conroe, Potsdam High School Class of '82, has published his first two novels, back-to-back, on Lulu.com.

Conroe wrote both books in 2009, inspired by his 45th birthday. “My mid-life crisis took the form of a writing frenzy, rather than the traditional sports car purchase,” Conroe says.

The books, “God Touched” and “Demon Driven,” are the first and second novels in an urban fantasy series filled with vampires, were-creatures and a giant short-faced bear.

“My main character grew up in St. Lawrence County, which is reflected in his resourcefulness and independence, two North Country traits I value highly.”

Award winning author Joseph Bruchac has this to say about “God Touched”: “With intelligence and sly humor, Conroe has crafted a tale that is more than mere genre fiction. It's a truly engaging and rewarding read.”

“God Touched” and “Demon Driven” can be found on Lulu.com in paperback and electronic download. “God Touched” is also available on Amazon.com in both Kindle and paperback forms. “Demon Driven” is available on Kindle only for now.

John Conroe works in finance and lives in central New York with his wife and two daughters.
