POTSDAM -- Potsdam Specialty Paper Inc. employee Mike O’Shea recently organized a company golf tournament held at the Waddington Golf Course, raising $500 to support Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
Although the weather presented a challenge, 12 PSPI employees participated
“Its great to see people outside of work, especially to support a great cause,” said O’Shea. “We gave the option of three charities to donate the money to, the winner of the 50/50 got to pick and chose to donate to Hospice” he said.
Money raised at the tournament will be used to support services offered to patients and their families as they encounter serious illness and grief.
“We are very grateful for the support of Potsdam Specialty Paper Inc. in this special way,” Hospice executive director Brian Gardam said. “Events like this help cover the difference between the services we provide and what is reimbursed by insurance. We are able to maintain a high standard of patient care thanks to the contributions of individuals, community groups and businesses.”
