CANTON -- St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force detectives have charged people from Potsdam and Norwood with felony meth-manufacturing after an investigation by the county Sheriff’s Office, Potsdam Police Department and the New York State Police.
The probe, which transpired over the course of more than a week, resulted Wednesday in the arrests of Jonathan E. Lavalley, 25, Potsdam, and Ashley M. Radell, 29, Norwood.
Both were charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, a class D felony.
Lavalley was also charged with unlawful disposal of methamphetamine lab material, a class E felony.
The pair had been arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 11 on warrants for unrelated issues and were subsequently found to be in possession of meth-making material including Coleman fuel, Sudafed and other materials, investigators said.
Lavalley also allegedly discarded meth lab materials in the woods behind a camp in the Town of Russell, police said.
Justice James Monroe arraigned the two in Town of Canton Court.
Lavalley was remained to jail on $2,500 cash bail or $3,500 bond. Radell was remained to jail on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond, police said.
Both are due back in Town of Canton Court on Sept. 23 at 1:30 p.m.
