HOPKINTON — A Potsdam man was killed in an ATV accident Saturday evening after being ejected from the machine where he struck several trees and the ground, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Edward J. Keleher, 40, was killed shortly before 4 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 72 and Kingsley Road, officers said.
Keleher was driving southwest on the shoulder of the road when he lost control and exited the roadway, deputies said.
He was ejected from the 1998 Honda ATV he was operating and stuck several trees and the ground, officers said.
Keleher was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital where he died from injuries sustained from the accident, deputies said.
Deputies were assisted on the scene by Tri-Town Rescue and the Hopkinton-Fort Jackson Fire Department.
The investigation is still ongoing.
