POTSDAM – A Potsdam man has been charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol level at three times the legal limit.
Garrett J. Burr, 24, has been charged with aggravated DWI and failure to keep right.
The Potsdam Police Department received a report of a reckless driver coming into the village on Market Street Thursday night. Patrols intercepted the vehicle on Grove Street just before midnight and allegedly saw the operator failing to stay to the right of the road.
Police stopped Burr, who was taken to the police station where he provided a breath sample allegedly revealing a BAC of .24 percent, three times the legal DWI threshold of .08 percent.
Burr was issued traffic tickets returnable in Potsdam Village Court July 20 and was released.
