POTSDAM -- A Potsdam man faces several charges including aggravated driving while intoxicated after crashing into another vehicle and leaving the scene of the accident Wednesday evening, according to state police.
Troopers said they received a report of an accident on the Potsdam-Morley Road around 10:19 p.m. and discovered that a motorist had struck a vehicle driven by Penny Vallance and then fled the scene prior to police arriving.
Police said they located the alleged driver a short time later at his home at 83 Flat Rock Rd.
Marcus A. Keleher, 31, was charged at 11:05 p.m. with aggravated DWI, operator leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, speeding, failure to keep right, unsafe tires and failure to notify the DMV of an address change, officers said.
His blood-alcohol-content was reportedly .21 percent while the threshold for a DWI charge is .08 percent.
He was released to a third party and is to appear in court at a later date, officers said.
