LAWRENCE -- A Potsdam man was charged Thursday night with a felony following an alleged domestic dispute that took place March 30, according to state police.

Kevin C. Hanson, 23, was charged at 10 p.m. with second-degree assault, felony, and third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury.

The domestic incident took place on County Route 54 between Hanson and his girlfriend, Danielle L. Dissottle, 27, Winthrop, troopers said.

During the incident Hanson allegedly threw a bottle that hit the hand of Dissottle’s sister-in-law, Kristeen A. Root, 25, of Potsdam.

The bottle caused an injury to Root’s hands. She was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital where she was treated and released, officers said.

Dissottle was also injured during the incident but her injuries were not listed in the police report.

Hanson was arraigned in Lawrence court before Town Justice Hastings-Lavigne and released under the supervision of probation.

He is to appear in court April 5 at 6 p.m.
