POTSDAM -- A Potsdam man was charged by village police with harassment after a complaint from his ex-girlfriend of dozens of phone calls and text messages Thursday night.

Joshua D. Lechner, 25, is accused of calling the woman 22 times and sending 17 text messages after she told him to stop trying to contact her.

Police say they located Lechner and took him to the police department.

He was released on an appearance ticket charging second-degree aggravated harassment, returnable in village court Oct. 6.
