STOCKHOLM -- A Potsdam man was charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly sheared $1,700 in cash that did not belong to him, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Jeffrey J. Giuliani, 51, of May Road was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, after he allegedly cut up $1,700 in cash with a pair of shears.

Deputies say the money belonged to a “former paramour” of Giuliani.

He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear in Stockholm court at later date.
