POTSDAM -- A Potsdam man with a restricted license was charged with driving while intoxicated after troopers found nine empty beer cans in the passenger seat of his vehicle Monday.
David Hodge, 60, Potsdam, was charged with driving while intoxicated. St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies say he was operating a 2011 Toyota Camry Southwesterly on County Route 35 at 10:59 a.m. when he crossed over the centerline. Deputies say he Hodge had been drinking and had nine beer cans on the passenger side floorboard of his vehicle. He was later charged with driving while intoxicated with a BAC of 1.2 percent. He was also charged with failure to keep right.
Deputies say he was already facing a driving while intoxicated charge for a February incident, but had been granted a hardship license. That DWI charge is still pending, according to deputies.
