POTSDAM — A Potsdam man was charged with burglary after he broke into an apartment complex Monday night on Maple Street and shut the power off and harassed tenants, according to Potsdam police.
Police said they responded to a complaint around 9 p.m. that a male had turned power off to the complex and was harassing people that lived there.
Police said they made contact with a male who falsely identified himself to police and was found to be in possession of small amount of marijuana.
Travis J. Davis, 28, was charged at 9:01 p.m. with second-degree burglary of a dwelling, fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal tampering and false personation.
He was also charged with two counts of second-degree harassment, disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Police said Davis forced entry to the residence through the basement. Once inside he intentionally damaged property and tampered with the electrical and heating systems.
