Potsdam library’s computer center offering free job assistance, Microsoft certification , help for students

POTSDAM -- The Public Computer Center at the Potsdam Public Library is offering a variety of free assistance for job-seekers, students and those seeing Microsoft certification.

Every Tuesday, “Interviewing and Filling Out Applications,” is presented from 9 a.m. - noon. The class is limited to 10 students.

Each Wednesday, the Job Club meets from 9 to 11.30 a.m. The club provides mutual support to job-hunters along with ideas and advice from members and speakers and access to the many employment-related resources at the library.

Every Thursday, “Writing Resumes and Cover Letters,” is offered from 9 a.m. to noon. The class is limited to 10 students.

A representative of the One Stop Career Center in Canton is on hand every Tuesday and Thursday from 1 – 4 p.m. to help job seekers.

Any time, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. computers are available for use by the public seeking employment information along with job coaching, computer instruction and much more.

Every school night, pupils from A.A. Kingston Middle School are welcome to do homework under supervision, using the library computers.

Applications are also invited for another multi-week, certification–level Microsoft Office course to be offered in February.
