POTSDAM -- The Kiwanis Club of Potsdam held their annual golf tournament last year and raised more than $500 for their annual donation to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).
Above, Matthew Rollins, chair of the golf tournament, presents a check for $550 to Jocelyn Meijas, representative from CMN, with Kiwanis President Daniel Fritz.
Every year, Kiwanis finds a different project to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network. Kiwanis has been donating to CMN for years, since its inception in 1989.
Although our focus is on local children, club members feels very strongly about helping children not just from our area, but all over the state, nation and world.
Matthew Rollins, a newer member, brought the idea of a golf tournament to members, who were more than willing to pitch in and help get the golf tournament up and running.
While it is a small club and a golf tournament is a big undertaking, members putting their best foot forward.
Rollins said he is hoping the tournament will get bigger so that donations can get larger.
Potsdam Kiwanis meets at the Ponderosa Restaurant on Tuesdays. For more information about Kiwanis and the other ways they help the community, visit www.kiwanisclubofpotsdam.webs.com or contact President Daniel Fritz at 265-3401.
