PARISHVILLE — Potsdam Kiwanis Club Kiwanian Henry Walters and his wife Nancy are pictured above holding an appreciation award given by the Head Start reading class at Parishville - Hopkinton Central School.
Each child received a book from the Kiwanis Club to take home and read to their family members.
The book reading runs September through June each school year to enhance development in reading skills prior to entering elementary school curriculums, a release from Kiwanis said.
Funding for Head Start Reading Programs by the Kiwanis Club of Potsdam comes from donations by businesses, community residents and other organizations.
