POTSDAM – The Potsdam Icestorm U16 girls hockey team is following up on their second straight New York championship in San Jose, Calif. this week as they compete in the national championships for Tier II teams.
The North Country girls play the Steel City Selects at 11:15 a.m. today, West Coast time, the Princeton Tiger Lilies at noon tomorrow, and the Grand Rapids Griffins at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Quarter- and semi-final matchups are set for Saturday, and the championship contest will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Potsdam Elks Lodge $2074 donated $3,500 to support the team’s second straight New York State Tier II Championship in March.
The team raised another $1500 during the dinner from additional donations beyond the dinner fee.
