Potsdam Icestorm raising money for upcoming trip to national competition

POTSDAM -- Potsdam Icestorm 16U team continues its efforts to raise money for its upcoming trip to national competition with two upcoming fundraisers.

The national tournament is held in Troy, Michigan April 5-10. They are the only team from St. Lawrence County heading to nationals.

A spaghetti dinner will be held Wednesday, March 29, from 5-8 p.m. at the Potsdam Elks Lodge, 10 Elm St., Potsdam. Cost is $9 for adults, children 6-10 is $7 and kids 5 and younger eat free. Dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread and dessert. Take-out is available. The team will deliver to Mayfield and Midtown apartments in Potsdam.

The Icestorm team is also hosting a bottle drive through April 3. Please don't forget to drop off your bottles and cans to CJ 's Bottle and Can Redemption Center, SeaComm Plaza, 145 Market St., Potsdam and Orvis Street Bottles and Cans Center, 301 E. Orvis St., Massena. Contact a player’s family if you need your cans/bottles picked up.

The Potsdam Icestorm 16U Girls sponsored by Deer Valley Trails and Potsdam Junior Hockey Association would like to thank all their supporters and are actively fundraising to help defray costs for travel, lodging and team expenses for their trip to the National Championship.
