POTSDAM – The Potsdam Humane Society is taking donations until June 16 of gently worn, used or new shoes to raise funds with the WoofTrax Shoes for Shelters program.
Last year the society raised $1,000 with the program.
Collected shoes are shipped to micro enterprise organizations in developing countries, versus into landfills.
Each pair of shoes earns funds for the society.
This year the society hopes to raise goal is to collect at least 2,500 pairs.
Shoes can be dropped off at the society, Monday-Saturday, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., or at SUNY Canton in French Hall Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
