POTSDAM -- Potsdam Humane Society seeks a home for Kanga, the shelter’s longest resident.
Clarkson sophomore, Leanna Hooper, who may be seen riding her bike around Potsdam with Kanga in tow, has fostered the puppy. Kanga is a 3-year-old pitbull-boxer mix who was adopted as a puppy and somehow became a stray. A very thin Kanga was picked up by Potsdam animal control officers and returned to the shelter.
Hooper, a volunteer at the shelter, took a special interest in Kanga and wanted to help her get her "break" and volunteered to foster her in a home environment and Kanga has thrived to become a healthy happy canine.
Kanga has learned a lot in foster care and is now house broken, knows simple commands and is good on leash, according to the Potsdam Humane Society.
Call 265-3199 for a meet and greet soon as her foster care will end with Clarkson's semester.
