POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Holiday Fund Inc. has received a $1,000 donation from Stewart’s Shops through the company’s Holiday Match Program, which benefits children’s organizations directly within the communities where Stewart’s Shops are located. All of the funds collected from Stewart’s customers, as well as the amount Stewart’s matches, stays in the communities that contributed to the program.
Tyler Murphy, manager of Stewart’s Shop on Market Street in Potsdam, recently presented the check to Pam Yurgartis, president of the Potsdam Holiday Fund.
In December 2014, the Potsdam Holiday Fund provided warm winter clothing, food and gifts for 327 families, including 521 children and 93 senior citizens living in Potsdam and the surrounding communities. The communities served by the program include Potsdam, Hopkinton, Nicholville, Brasher Falls, Chase Mills, Fort Jackson, West Stockholm and Winthrop.
