POTSDAM – A plan to annex several parcels of property owned by Clarkson University into the village will be the subject of a hearing Monday, Nov. 2 before the village Board of Trustees.
The hearing is set for 6:40 p.m. in the Civic Center Board Room.
Clarkson has bought up six parcels at the southwestern side of the campus, toward the railroad overpass on Rt. 11, and has asked the village to include them inside the village line.
Village law specifies that property outside the village may not have the benefit of village water and sewer service, noted Village Administrator Everett Basford.
The university has bought parcels from Frederick “Hank” Robar, including former student housing, beyond the southwestern entrance to the campus along Rt. 11.
Among the plans for the land being talked about, Basford said, is for the university to move its maintenance facility from near Walker Arena, on Clarkson Avenue, to the newly acquired land.
