Potsdam teen hits deer on ATV, sent to CPH with broken clavicle

HOPKINTON -- A Potsdam man was ejected from an ATV after he struck a deer while traveling on State Highway 72 Tuesday night, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.

Alex N. Hanson, 18, sustained a broken clavicle, bruised left wrist and bruised left hip, officers said.

Officers said Hanson was traveling north on St. Hwy. 72 around 8 p.m. when a deer entered the roadway.

He was treated at Canton-Potsdam Hospital for his injuries and released, deputies said.
