HANNAWA FALLS – A Potsdam High School graduate visiting the North Country from her Boston-area home collapsed and died while jogging near her parents’ home Wednesday night.
State Police said Kathryn McCourt, about 42, was pronounced dead at Canton-Potsdam Hospital at about 8:15 p.m., taken there after collapsing at about 7 p.m. along Postwood Road in Hannawa Falls near the family home.
CPR was performed at the scene and on the way to the hospital, police said.
State police said her father is William Sloan, a former SUNY Potsdam faculty member.
An autopsy was to be performed Thursday, according to police.
