Potsdam gearing up to make new comprehensive plan
POTSDAM -- The Town of Potsdam is gearing up its effort to formulate a new town comprehensive plan by soliciting for help from community members.
“We have had one meeting with a number of attendees and have been able to focus on several areas of concern, said Councilors Judy Rich and Rose Rivezzi in a press statement. “But now we want your help.“If you have lived here a long time, you certainly know about things that we need and things that should be improved. If you have recently moved here, you can provide us with a fresh look at old problems,” they wrote.
They wish to reassure people who might think they would little or nothing to contribute that “you would be wrong. We have lived here many years, and we have seen what ordinary citizens can do when they come together with purpose. We all have special talents and insights just waiting to be tapped,” the town officials said.
Following is a list of the topics for meetings on particular dates:
• Jan. 17 - Housing and Neighborhoods / Quality of Life
• Jan. 24 - Business and Economic Development / Land Use
• Jan. 31 - Infrastructure and Energy
People are invited to attend as many meetings as might interest them.
All meetings will be held at the Town Hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Those who plan on attending one of the sessions or have questions are asked to contact Rivezzi at [email protected].
