POTSDAM -- Two Potsdam people traveled across the world to bump into one another.
SUNY Potsdam professor Derek C. Maus and former Potsdam resident Joshua Lazo met in Saint Petersburg, Russia, with the famous Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood in the background.
Maus is in Saint Petersburg for three weeks as a teacher in the Saint Petersburg Institution on Language, Cognition and Culture. Lazo was visiting the city as part of a tour with the Terrance Simien Zydeco Experience, of which he is a member.
The details of their meeting more than 4000 miles from the North Country can be read at https://potsdamtopetersburg.wordpress.com/2015/07/20/russian-zydeco/.
