Potsdam fraternity says it’s cooperating with police on rape investigation

POTSDAM —Delta Kappa Theta Fraternity President says the organization is cooperating with police as the investigation into an alleged rape by one of its members continues.

Potsdam police charged Storm N. Rivera, 21, New York City was charged with first-degree rape, felony, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment, officers said.

The incident allegedly occurred in Nov. 2017 at the Delta Kappa Theta fraternity house.

“Delta Kappa Theta is giving our full cooperation to the Potsdam Village Police and are confident in the due process afforded by our justice system. We condemn sexual assault and sexual violence in all its forms. This behavior is antithetical to all that our Brotherhood stands for,” a statement from Delta Kappa Theta President Tyro L. Cisco said. “Out of respect for the individuals involved, and to allow this to take the proper course, the organization is not commenting at this time.”
