POTSDAM — The Potsdam Food Co-op started a collection from shoppers to support the North Country Children's Museum's Kids Co-op Exhibit.
The Co-op collected over $400 for the museum, said a press release.
The Food Co-op has been a community partner for NCCM since 2012, by running baking and cooking programs in the Carriage House Bakery.
NCCM modeled a pretend grocery store and bakery after the Co-op.
Volunteers who built the oven at the Carriage House Bakery, David Trithart and Bob Josephson, created a pretend oven for the kids at the museum. The oven "turns on" with a red light so that children can pretend to bake.
Kids can also shop, run the register and stock the shelves with real looking produce and boxed items.
In this exhibit, children role play and learn about healthy eating and local farmers, said a press release.
