POTSDAM -- The Elks Lodge 2016 Hoop Shoot held recently at Clarkson University Alumni Gym produced several young champions aged 8 to 13.
They are:
• Girls age 8-9, first place Trinidy Brothers, second Ava Hoy, third MaKenna McCarthy
• Boys age 8-9, first place Alex Thompson, second Blake Morrill, third Paaro Johnson
• Girls age 10-11, first place Kylee Kellison, second Shelby LaMay, third Amelia Rodee
• Boys age 10-11, first place Jacob Morgan, second John O'Neil, third Dylan Lamora
• Girls age 12-13, first place Kayly Belmore, second Lydia Thomas, third Madison Hoy
• Boys age 12-13, first place Ethan Furnia, second Oren White, third Tyler Hollis.
Ethan Furnia led all shooters with a contest best 21/25. The champions advanced to a district contest in Malone. There, contest, Kylee Kellison in the girls age 10-11 division and Kayly Belmore in the girls age 12-13 division each took second place.
Belmore lost in a shoot-out to the eventual district champion.
