POTSDAM – An electronic cigarette store is opening on Main Street.
The store is called Gourmet Vapor, and owner Eric Kreizman said expected to open the store at 2 Main St., near Market Street, this week
Kreizman said he thinks sales will be good, since, he says, electronic cigarettes don’t produce smoke “or 3,000 chemicals” and are accepted in airport bars, hospitals, and other places cigarette smoke is not allowed.
“It’s the future,” he said.
They use “nicotine juice” that is electrically vaporized for consumption.
Kreizman says he has starter kits at $20 that will last a user a month, and that compared to the price of tobacco in New York, it’s a bargain.
The nicotine liquid he sells is “handcrafted all-organic, extracted right from the plant, so it’s 99.9 percent organic,” he said.
“It’s a healthy alternative to buying a pack of Marlboros.”
The North Country native said he has test-marketed the product in the Florida Keys, where he had lived for the last 25 years before moving back north, “and it took off like wildfire.”
The store will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, generally, with different hours during the holiday shopping season.
