POTSDAM — Potsdam Central School is looking to fill their principal position at the middle school before school begins this fall.

Former Middle School Principal Mark Bennett took the position of high school principal when Allison Benedict stepped down from that position June 21. Benedict held the position for one year.

The school deadline application to apply is July 18.

The Board of Education will look for three parents of middle school students to serve on an advisory committee to fill this position.

Applications will be screened July 24 and the results of the Administrative Committee finalizing criteria and screening will be shared the following night with the BOE.

An Advisory Committee will meet to develop more specific criteria, formulate questions, review applications and select candidates for interviews on July 26.

Candidates will interview July 31 and Aug. 1, depending on the number of candidates, with the Advisory Committee.

Executive Committee interviews with finalist are slated for Aug. 7.

An appointment of the new principal is planned for Aug. 8.
