Potsdam, DeKalb men take ninth, 10th at Clayton fishing tourney

POTSDAM --- A Potsdam man and DeKalb angler took ninth and 10th place at the most recent Walmart FLW~ Bass Fishing League held their Super Tournament in Clayton this past weekend for its final stop of the season.

The event consisted of 103 anglers fishing on day one in an attempt to make the day two cut of 20 anglers.

A top prize of over $5,000 was on the line. The high winds and changing weather conditions did not effect two local anglers from making the top twenty cut to fish day two. Chris Flint, Potsdam secured the 15th spot with a weight of 18 pounds 3 ounces and Jordan Davis-Dekalb, secured the fifth position with a weight of 21 pounds 3 ounces.

On day two the top twenty pros left Clayton with a strong Northern Wind and rain showers. Flint and Davis fished the St. Lawrence river in the same area on both days. At the end of the day Flint moved up to finish in the 9th position with a day two weight of 19 pounds 6 ounces, total weight of 38 pounds 3ounces and Davis finished 10th overall with a second day weight of 16 pounds 15 ounces, total weight of 38 pounds 2 ounces Both anglers were drop shotting main river structure about one hour North of Clayton.

Chris Flint's co-angler Greg Collins- Perth Road, Ontario also secured a top twenty spot and won the co-angler division with a total weight of 43 pounds 10 ounces.

Chris Flint and Jordan Davis are both local anglers and members of the Northern New York Bassmasters Club. Flint also fishes professionally in the Walmart FLW~Everstart Series.
