POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce Town & Gown Committee is looking to bring back the flower containers on the pole brackets around the village.

The committee is looking for sponsors for this program and moving forward with future programs “to amplify the attractiveness of Potsdam’s public spaces,” the chamber said.

Sponsorship has been set at $50.

“Any business, organization, family, neighborhood or group of friends, and individuals can become a sponsor,” chamber Executive Director Marylee Ballou said in a news release. “Businesses will receive media coverage and a small six inch decorated flower pot to display in their establishment; showing they are a supporter of the project. Other sponsors will receive a “supporter” sticker to be displayed however they choose and mention in media coverage.”

The committee is also working on replacing the “Welcome to Potsdam signs” and are finalizing the sign fabrication plans.

“We will be reaching out again to those that made a commitment to this project a few years ago and we hope they are still on board,” Ballou said.

Checks can be made out to Potsdam Chamber and should indicate that it is for flower beautification. Include contact information so delivery of thank you items can be completed. Flowers are scheduled to be put up at the end of May.
