POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce sponsored a holiday window decorating contest amongst its members, and the window with the highest score from the judges was The Frame Mill window at 13 Maple Street.
The judges said they loved the elves and how the frames were used.
Honorable mention went to Today’s Hair and Day Spa at 36 Market St. The judges were wowed by the use of lights and color.
“The chamber appreciates all the talent and hard work that all our contestants put into their masterpieces,” noted chamber Executive Director Marylee Ballou. "It was a difficult judging situation," she said.
This year’s competition was full of wonderfully festive and imaginative ideas, and the judges found something unique with every design, Ballou said: Misty Hollow and Scoopuccino’s salutes to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, the elegant and classy looks for The Carol Lee Shoppe, Twisted Turtle, and Maple Run Emporium, the traditional villages of St. Lawrence Oral Surgery and Pinto, Mucenski, Hooper Van House & Co. CPA PC, the cute display of the Potsdam Humane Society, and the highlight on Giving the Gift of Life by Santa at the American Red Cross.
“We have some really talented and imaginative businesses here,” Ballou said.
