POTSDAM -- A Potsdam Central School senior is running for town councilman in the Sept. 12 Democratic primary.
Connor Newcombe, who entered the PCS District as an eighth grader, says his interest in history and subsequently politics and government has motivated him to seek a leadership role on the Potsdam Town Board.
“Service to the community is a family tradition — my father was in the U.S Army and my mother is now working in the social service area,” Newcombe said. “After over 20 years of service and five out of the country deployments, my father retired from the Army and we moved to Potsdam, because both of my parents had grown up in the North Country.”
He said that following his family’s example; he also wishes to serve his community.
“By participating in local government, I believe I can bring a youthful perspective and open mind to the decision making process on the town board,” he said. “I hope I can count on your support in the September 12 primary.”
